This demon works to keep you from focusing on the things that would make your life better. It takes the form of TV, video games, chat rooms, email, the corner bar; anything to thwart your productivity.
But that only scratches the surface – There are highly powerful distractioners that affect our lives forever.
Satan has swung open the doors to promote his agenda -
Take for example the abortion issue. They will keep you distracted from what is really going on, even though the issue probably doesn’t affect you personally. You most likely will not be considering abortion. You may feel that it is not your place to decide for someone else. Regardless of how we feel about the act itself, should we all be forced to pay for those who do choose that route? And if we do pay for it, will more people be inclined to take that route?
Now, mind you – I am not discounting the weight of this issue, but if it had been left alone – it was not a ‘big’ issue. It only affected a very small percentage of the population. There are much bigger issues that we need to be focusing on. Now, because our focus has been drawn here, this will join the list of wrong things that will be tolerated.
The gay rights issue is another well designed distraction. It affects a very small percentage of the population, yet the majority is made to feel that they have to cow-tow to this minority group. We should abolish rights of the majority to ‘help’ this minority take hold.
Or how about the farm bill that affects food stamps? Everyone will demand passage of this bill. What they don’t realize and don’t really care about yet is that the bill includes Monsanto protection. Soon enough, Monsanto will control all food. What will that mean to civilization?
Now, these things are going to go on in the world, and there is nothing we can do about it. It is written.
However, we need to be responsible for our own lives and the choices we make. What are you focusing on?
Are you focusing on having more time to sit in front the brain washing distractions?
Are you focusing on doing as little as possible?
Are you focusing on stuffing something in your family’s mouth as quickly as with as little effort as possible, or are you focusing on ensuring that you and your family have health, energy, and mental capacity to live strong?
Are you focusing on doing what is right, or what seems to be easier?
Will you focus on meaningful conversation with people in front of you, or that text that just came in?
Are you focused on all the things going on that you can do nothing about, or are you focusing on keeping things together in your little world where you do have control?
Our lives today are much like the story of Lot and his family living in Sodom. They continued to live a righteous life though they were surround by prostitution and homosexuality and grievous sin so bad that the Lord finally destroyed the cities of both Sodom and Gomorrah.
